Hippies in Athens

On a warm summers evening on a plane bound for Athens we met up with the airport and it took us away. Thanks to Kenny Roger's for the inspiration.

We awoke in Athens this morning to find our less than impressive breakfast. I'm not saying I wasn't grateful but I wasn't too full afterwards either. This included crumbly toast that snapped when you buttered it. Cold boiled eggs and some sort of juice. Soon after breakfast we got in our crazy drivers van and set off to the airport for a bus. If you’re wondering what makes someone a crazy driver this is the criteria you need to meet. Checklist for our driver below:

Goes 130 in 50 zone / ✔️
Drive down middle of the road / ✔️
Drove 80 through a car park/ ✔️
Didn't wait for traffic / ✔️
No indicating when changing lanes / ✔️

As you can see we had a crazy driver. We arrived at the airport 20 minutes before our bus left. We eventually got on our bus and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, heat wise. Everyone except for Alyssa was sweating like a Chambers. Meanwhile,  Alyssa was contemplating putting her jersey on. We were all in shock of this luckily she came to her senses and decided not to wear it. We arrived at our stop after sweating for an hour straight just to walk about 700 meters to our hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by none other than 5 flights of stairs. Luckily there was a lift but it was so small that we had to go up 1 at a time. We had a very funny and friendly conversation with the hotel manager, he recommended a souvalaki place down the road so that's where we went for lunch. The best part about this was their menu said that there was tomatoes in the wrap but it was only 1 on the top. Very good souvilaki in my opinion. After lunch we gathered resources and settled in to our apartment. You might remember me mentioning hippie pants way back in Germany so that is what we did this afternoon. I got some cool Jean looking pants. Mum was greedy and got two pairs of the same colour. This was crazy because they weren't black. They were green! Green is the colour of clothes that Mum buys when she realizes that she has too much black. Now she has too much green. Mum is in trouble. Alyssa also got a pair of hippie pants they are blue with swirls on them. After shopping in the market we got some supermarket dinner and went to sleep. We are doing a tour tommorow of the blank. Find out tommorow what the blank is.

As I am writing this I ask myself why do I sweat so much. Then I realized I am a Chambers. That's what we do.

Toodle-loo folks.

I hope there's a family photo coming of you all in your hippie pants. Has Rich bought a pair yet?
