Girls Day vs Boys Day

Today we split up..,

Girls Day

Alyssa and I started the day on a mission to find long riding boots. A trip out to a shop in Finchley proved worth the walk in the rain.

After returning the boots to our hotel and a quick lunch of raspberries and avocado sandwiches we headed out again to check out Hamleys and watch our second West End show.

After experiencing the multi-levels of Hamleys, we decided to kill time by walking with purpose to the theatre. On our way we were lucky enough to spot Mary Poppins and Paddington.

Our second show was Six. It featured just Six very talented actresses who told the story of Henry VIII six wives… divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. History retold in a West End Show, so good!

Boys Day

To start off our last day in London Dad and I got on a train to Lords cricket ground. When we got off the train in the station we found a map, and saw that Abbey Road crossing (the Beatles album cover crossing) was close to us so off we went. We got some cool photos of me and Dad crossing the road.

We then did a 1 hour tour around the unseen parts of Lords such as the changing rooms and the media box, we loved it. We saw the Middlesex team trying for their big final and the pitch getting prepared for the Ashes test series. Some of the best things we saw were the original Ashes urn made in 1863, a jersey worn by Shane Warne in a match of which he wore when he got 700 wickets and Richard Hadlee's cap. My favorite part of the tour was the journalist box because of the amazing view of the ground.

It was a great day all around!

After the Lords tour we went to Andertons Music store in Guildford. I have been watching their YouTube promotional videos for years so was keen to go to see the store in person. It was incredible with a massive display of music gear and demo rooms to try anything out. It was about an hour out of London but well worth the trip. Quite a cool town away from the hustle and bustle of London, would definitely visit again.

  1. Both of these days sound amazing! I remember wanting to see Abbey Road and accidentally stumbling across Lord's instead so it's hilarious that you guys did it the other way round. The music shop looks like heaven! The shows looked amazing too. What a brilliant time in London you have all had, makes me want to go back myself as there is just so much to see!
