When Things Don’t Go Smoothly

Today shouldn't have been too hectic but that's how it was. We started off the day killing some time before going to get the bus to the airport. This started our hecathon. This is a long string of hectic activities. About 20 minutes before the bus left we decided that we would all catch the bus and shorten our car journey and save some time. What I might not have told you yet, is that the old town was down about 100 steps. On the way in we were not that fussed about it, this got flipped upside down when we had to go up this morning. This was the only time on our entire trip that Alyssa agreed that it would be worse having a suitcase (a discussion that comes up more frequently now than it did at the start of the trip).
We scampered up the stairs and caught the bus just in time. We then spent 40 minutes sweating like pigs and I even managed to convince mum that she didn't smell bad. Now that she can't smell it is a fun game to play with her (at least Max thinks it’s fun). We arrived at the airport picked up our car after quite a long wait and drove off. Not much happened between then and dinner (apart from a few hangry moments and some interesting driver encounters and a bit of a struggle finding our accommodation). But let's just say dinner made up for it. We ordered and received our drinks very fast this made us think we should come back here, until... this sound happened. Slap slosh splash “what the hell are you doing Alyssa?” Alyssa had knocked the table and splashed Dad’s beer everywhere. The funniest part about this was that no one else’s drink spilled a drop apart from dads. His clothes were enjoying his beer more than his mouth was. Dad and Alyssa went bright pink when the waiters came over to help us out. Me and Mum were also bright pink trying to hold our laughter in (this was a real challenge). It was truly hysterical. Mum had to run down to a nearby mall to buy dad some new clothes. He wasn't too impressed with this dinner outing. The food was probably the best I have ever ate next to my german sausage of course. After dinner we went for a swim got supplies, had a few family discussions and went to bed (not before sorting a load a beer smelling washing).
